Default wiring question

Looking under the dash to the left of the steering wheel in my LHD series 2 4.2 roadster, there is a black ground wire from the firewall with an unfinished end.
Close by is a red wire with what appears to be yellow secondary color that goes to a bullet connector.
Does the ground wire connect with the red/yellow wire?
What is the red/yellow wire for?

Can anyone post a pic of this bit of wiring from their car?

Make sure that the exposed wire is a ground..Owners have been known to substitute colors, when nothing else was handy...
Just check it with an ohm meter to ground, before connecting anything to it.....
Also, check the other wire for 12V, with the ignition on (with a test light or VOM)...
