I'm trying to replace the stock radio with after-market one, but I can't find a wiring diagram telling me which wire is which. Could anyone shed some light on the colors?
It looks the same as the stock radio. The problem now is that I don't know what LB+-, PA, L-Common, etc,. means.
Anyone can translate the table for me?
And this is the stereo that I'm trying to wire instead of stock. I noticed the after-market has 12 wires and stock has 14. How would I consolidate the wires, and/or how would I connect the old wires to the new stereo?
Well, that kind of diagram makes even less sense. I'm not electrician, all that gets confusing and I don't want to break something. Plus it doesn't show positive and negative wires from the same speaker..
Is there a simpler guide somewhere of how to connects wires, and where they go in the other stereo?
I have done that job before, there are 6 speakers in your Jag.
With a meter,or an old radio, you can trace which speakers are which.
If you trace the wires up the drivers side, you will come to a place where they all come from their respective speakers.
I took the rear bass speakers, and wired them to the rear channel(left and right)and took the front and rear doors on each side, and put them together,Left and Right,on the front channel.
So,fader, between bass and doors,Balance between right and left.
I had to pull the knee bolster on the drivers side, and work from there, labeling as I went.
I just used bullet connectors to make the connections.

Champ sounds good!
Hope this helps,Jim.
Unfortunately I'm not planning on taking it apart that far to trace the wires. I was hoping for simpler rewiring.

Hi danpop,
I'm not an electrician either, but if you can invest a little time into understanding the wiring diagrams in the Electrical Guide, you'll be amazed at the other issues you will be able to diagnose on your car.
One thing that will help you is this wiring color code chart from page 3 of the Electrical Guide pdf:
Looking at the schematic on page 61 of the pdf guide, you can see that the Red/Green wires from the Left Rear and Left Front speakers are tied together at the head unit, which strongly suggests that those are the common/ground/earth/negative wires for those speakers. For the Right Rear and Right Front speakers, the Pink/Light Green wires are common.
That leaves only the Bass speakers (woofers) to figure out. You should be able to simply pull the speakers to see which color wires are connected to the positive and negative terminals of the speakers. From the component locations listed on page 60 of the pdf, you can see that the Bass speakers are located in the kick panel below the rear seat. If I recall correctly, the speakers are made by Philips and their positive terminals are marked.
