Won’t Start!
pulled her into the paint booth and was fooling with the fan fuse and now she won’t start at all. She’s not getting spark. We replaced the ignition relay, new points, new coil and now new ignition relay harness. Nothing has worked. Anyone have any ideas? 1970 4.2
Use a volt meter. With the ignition on you should have 12 volts at the coil +terminal. Assuming that is OK, check the coil -terminal several times after clicking the starter. Should sometimes read 0 other times +12. If not there is trouble with the points, the ground or the hot lead. If that is OK, be suspicious of the connection between the rotor and distributor cap and check that the rotor is firmly seated. Good luck.
Mine had a similar issue after switching to electronic ignition. Turned out to be the choke cable had snapped and that prevented it starting or even firing on one cylinder. No spark - try another coil - they can pooch without any warning.
Thanks for the info guys. Been a little suspicious of the choke, we’ve re-wired the ignition relay to the coil and still nothing. We’ll try your guys suggestions next

The choke cable being broken didn’t allow spark?
Naw, sorry for the confusion, It had spark at the plugs, but had no interest in starting or "farting". I did have no spark another time, and had to figure things out when I replaced the ignition switch and moved one wire to the wrong terminal.
When you switch on the key, do you hear the fuel pump tick?
Disconnect the fuel line at the filter bowl, and see if the pump will pump gas into a jar....
If you have spark and you have fuel, it will start....
Next , remove the air cleaners , and look to see if the choke butterflies are operating....Still no start? Spray some starting fluid in the carbs, and stand back when you crank....
Just my 2 cents
