Contact your Jaguar dealer parts dept. They will ask for your VIN, so have it handy. From this they can tell you if your Jag was spec'd for a leaper, and give you some idea of which variation, (although even these had numerous variations) your car came with. You can then look on ebay and get some not bad pricing on a leaper compared to the $300.00 - $500.00 the dealer wants. (I got a new one on ebay for $187.00) There are many variations of the leaper, so be prepared to do a little homework on which is best for your model. Ex: My 93 XJ40 originally had a newer smaller leaperadded on, and this was different than the type most common on this year.I also suggest you look forthe UK version which is not spring loaded so it will not easily be poached by idle hands.

On further thought, I've rarely seen the leapers on XJS's and those I have seen with one do look slightly odd.

Just a thought before you go and drill a bunch of holes.
