Could be the OSRAM bulbs vs Phillips as well. They are a bit different in performance. It is very similar though in real life.

Post RE: HID color temperature - choose your side

Well I have had my 6000K Hid in my silver XKR,at first I thought that I should have gone with the 5K lamps. But after having them for a while I like the look and preformance of the 6ks.The lamps go to a new bright white after a two minute warm up. I ordered 5k kit just in case, but so far I am liking the 6k preformance.

Default 6k for me

yes I will go with the 6k this summer when I pop on the new wheels. Different light spectrum will be more readily visible to some than others. It really depends on the individuals eyesight and seating position in my opinion.

I like 6k, but it appears that no matter what bulb you use, you'll still be brighter than the 2k halogens, it just won't have that summertime 'red' in it that so many are used to. Nice poll dude, glad to see some others jumping on this, HID very cheap now after 5yrs hah

4300K standard for me, I'm not bothered what they look like, when I'm batting down the country lanes in my neck of the woods at night, visibility counts for more. I might take the 6000K if I were fitting aftermarket, but I'll be damned if I'd waste cash changing for the sake of it.

I like 6000k, though I'm tempted to try out 4300k just to see how much different the usable light is.
