Default RIMS

Hi everyone I have a question I currently have 18's on my x-type, I am looking at getting 20's can some one please tell me if there is enough room? is it as easy as taking off the 18's and adding the 20's or is there modifications needed? any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have pics of your x-type on 20's I would really like to see them.

Thanks

Sting

Do yourself a favour Sting and go visit the X type section and open up the FAQ thread within it.
If you lok you'll see a whole array of posts dedicated to rims / tyres / offsets etc etc etc. There's been a few guys here n there who've had 19's and had nuthin but trouble with rubbing n the like, tyres wearout out, bumpy suspension, you name it.
Can't even think of that many with 20's?

Check it out

Good luck

Jim

I have 19x8 wheels with 215/35/19 tires with no rubbing issues at all. I had 225/35/19 tires and it rubbed like crazy and damaged my fenders. I could imagine the damages 20's could do.

Nowadays its "all rim, no sidewall", I guess. I dunno. Looks like an o-ring stretched over a wagon wheel ! What happens when you hit a bump ?

Don't mind me. I'm just old, that's all

Cheers

Hope you have success with your 20's, I really do. It may look awesome, but I gotta go with Doug. Of course I live in an area where there are enough potholes, expansion joints and speed bumps that I need a bit more rubber on the road. Otherwise I'd be repairing/replacing rims every other week. Gonna stay with my 17's, OEM and aftermarket.

Recently saw an X on eBay with 20's. So it can be done. Why not contact your wheel vendor so they can help you spec it out and not run into body damage problems?

Well, in my opinion, your 18's look outstanding. I would stick with them. Else would look a little silly.

Thanks for the help everyone. After further thought I am going to keep what I have and just add tint to the windows, for the look and help protect my leather interior. Thanks for the nice compliment Jaguar6286.
