Default 2024 F-Pace SVR, 1000 miles, dead in my garage

I purchased it from 1.5 months ago. It only has 1030 miles. It’s a 2024.

Yesterday afternoon when I tried to back out of my garage, I couldn’t turn the steering wheel. It did seem like it could turn a little if I really cranked it. But that seemed like a bad idea. So I pulled back in.

i tried to call the dealership off and on all afternoon but could only get voicemails so I waited until this morning. I set up roadside assistance (I still can’t Jaguar service dept on the phone) and when I went to back it up, it’s dead. Completely 100% dead. I can’t even get in the trunk.

Any ideas? Seems like a computer issue. If it was yellow I’d say I got a lemon, but I guess I got an orange, lol. She is pretty, even though just an orange brick right now.

Nice car! Lessons learned from your friends on the F Type side: JLR products need a fully charged battery to operate properly. Your steering is electric assist. If you are not driving the car every day then it would be happier if you hooked up a battery conditioner like the CTEK or NOCO Genius. This may not be your problem but it’s a place to start.

Thanks for the reply. The dealership called and they suspect it’s a faulty sensor on the steering column. He said due to the defect, it wasn’t turning off and drained the battery. I do drive it regularly, but I appreciate the tip. It’s good to know.

Take the negative of and put it back on ,your Steering will come back, even though the car it's new the car sits at the dealer outside with no maintainer, so a module may shut down, and in parallel with that drain the battery in the cold
