Default F-PACE - Pool of water in Passenger Footwell

Hi All,

we had heavy rains and I went into the wife's F-Pace and was welcomed to a mini pond in the passenger footwell. I did a quick check and was able to poke around under the glovebox, which resulted in more water gushing down. This has never happend before. The windshield was replaced few months ago. but never noted any water like this.

I have read up on the forums and it appears to be typically: sunroof drain, the cowl seal by the wipers under the hood, drain plugs behind fenders or AC drain clogged.

I never see any follow ups on Jag Forums where people share what the actual cause was after fixing, So im hoping someone can chime in who has experienced this. Given that it was after heavy rain Im inclined to think it is the cowl seal under the wipers as they may have removed it to install the new windshield. The water appeared to be coming from around the glovebox but AC was not being used. The drain plugs under the fenders seem to empty under the car or floorboard not under the glovebox area where the water came from.

All thoughts, tips, etc. appreciated.

Could it be the windshield itself? If it didn't bind properly to the frame it could easily leak.

Blocked AC drains is a regular cause of this on several of the current and recent Jaguar models. However, given the vehicle has has a recent glass replacement, I'd check and eliminate this first.

The adhesive is applied as a continuous bead around the perimeter of the glass so the cowl is unlikely to be the cause unless washer piping has been disturbed. Spray the glass and surrounding body areas with a hosepipe whilst an assistant watches for water coming into the passenger compartment. JLR have a more complicated method involving compressed air and soapy water which is more likely to identify specific area(s) of water ingress.

For anyone wondering and as an update - it was the windscreen, I had the shop that replaced it check it out and they ended up replacing the entire screen. The car would not have water inside from car washes but only heavy continuous rainfall.

Thanks for posting the resolution. Too many ask a question and then forget to do that.
