Default Jaguar Complimentary Scheduled Maintenance Coverage?

Claimed to be 'best in class', but what does it mean?
Does it include brake pads?
Does it include brake rotors?

Probably NO, just oil, various filter(s) changes.
So BMW free maintenance program still better?

Brakes are not scheduled maintenance. Whether they are covered by warranty in the case of premature wear is another matter.

Nope...BMW reduced their program for MY 2017 & onward and no more "wear and tear" items either:

"Best in Class" as defined by Jaguar.

Class is cars sold by luxury automobile brands and claim is based on total package of warranty, maintenance and other coverage programs.

Covers most everything except for wear items.

So no Brakes, No Rotors, No free wipers.

BMW used to offer Rotors/Brakes, and free wipers - but starting in the 2017(or 16, don't recall) they will no longer offer that. The warranty also drops from 4 years to 3.

Jaguar is "best in class" because the new warranty is 5 years. Would have been really splendid if they included Brakes/Rotors... but it is what it is.

I didn't read through the whole BMW thread, but there are comments that Jags prior to 2016 only had one year of free maintanance. This is true for Landrover, but didn't Jags from 2012-2015 cover maintenance for 4 years, 50k?

I think that's the warranty--maintenance was most definitely not covered; though I think they had for one model year, I want to say 2011, their Platinum coverage which is essentially what their new Elite Care is, though I think it may have included brakes and rotors.

I know 2011 was 5 years for both maintenance and warranty and included wipers and brake pads as I had a 2011 XF. The current elite care I don't think includes wipers or pads.

Thats really a great value then!

But knowing that car makers are looking everywhere to pinch out more money, its not surprising the new maintenance offering does not include above mentioned.

Still, I was considering another BMW that would come with a 3 year warranty, but the deal I got on my new XF + 5 years maintenance ended that thought process right quick.

Correct; wear and tear items are not part of the package. I don't know if Volvo is still doing their Safe + Sound program which covers everything, Lincoln offers everything covered if you get a Black Label vehicle. Still, the Elite Care is pretty good.

I think Jag has a very attractive program with the 5-50. It will help if you want to sell the car even in the 4th year.
