Default Jaguar F Pace S 2018

Hey everyone. Just got myself an Fpace S and I'm happy to be apart of the modern Jag family. Red calipers, 380hp, nice white and black interior with dark wood trim. 3rd jag I've had since 2019. 2 2015 xfs in the past loaded out with all the features I thought that's how they all came. My dad has had 4 200s and 90s jaguars and those were cream kf the crop. Only thing is I thought my car would have cooled seats and able to change the lighting but I found out the went with the buy everything separate route or pay more for an expensive trim with those features. It's a damn shame because I though Jags were all equal besides their engines. Also only my right mirror dips in reverse all other cars usually both do it? Anyone with any idea about that? I'm still contemplating trading this one in for an XJ because that car makes you feel really nice. The fpace is decent but feels hollow plasticy. The xf 2015s were heavy duty and hugged the ground. They don't make cars like that anymore

Congrats on the new car. I'm surprised you didn't realize that the different trims have very different quality and features. That's normal on pretty much every car (and has always been true in Jags too). I agree the old ones had an old world cosseting quality. But the high spec modern ones are very well equipped too

On reverse dip - look in the owners guide for your year. For mine (2023) you have to enable reverse dip in the touch screen menu then you put the car in reverse and adjust the mirrors (both sides) while in reverse. Hit memory and 1/2/3 and it stores that position for future reversing. I like to have passenger dip (for the kerb) and driver side stay undipped (to see traffic). But you can do it any way you like

If you really want all the features and trim, better leather, nicer seats etc then would say trading for a higher trim spec is the right choice. Although that will drive cost of course.

My S has Ambient but no cooling seat, no digital dials and no widescreen infotainment. Rear climate but no rear seat recline.
My wife’s R-Sport doesn’t have ambient but does have heated/cooled seats, digital dials and widescreen infotainment. No rear seat climate but rear seats recline.
My XE has no ambient, no digital dials but does have widescreen infotainment. Has rear camera but no backup sensors!
You just have to know what options exist and go looking for a car that has what you want.
The Pace is a bit low rent compared to the XJ and especially my Type R. BUT, I love driving an SUV everyday compared to drive a car.
