wow thats crazy, glad to hear you're safe at least. im going to assume that even with a blowout the car was pretty well stabilized.

As far as I know there arent issues with continental tires. Its probably too late now but I wonder what the manufacture date was on the tire. Maybe you just got unlucky? hit something sharp?

never the less, im sure the tire is covered under the manufacture (continental) warranty, i mean its only been 300 miles. they should replace it for you no problem. and if they dont make some stink (in a nice way)

Consider having the tire properly inspected for defects..

well, the tread was completely gone, sent pix to dealer that is 90 miles away, i had no roadhazard warranty, they stated that if i punctured it it would strip off rubber, as such no warranty, they are sending me another tire for 1/2 price and have it installed locally. basically continental's warranty is a joke.

Interesting. I've had my share of punctures over the years (fortunately no blowouts). I've never seen/heard of a puncture causing the thread to fall off. Talk to a local tire dealer. Hang on to the failed tire. If you haven't, take your case directly to Continental since it's their warranty vs JLR.
