Hmm so maybe if I wanted loud, but no pop, i could put the active exhaust in quiet mode, and just trigger the bypasses to open which just takes grounding one wire. (edit: actually i had that backwards - just need to disconnect power from the valve that applies vacuum to close the bypasses.)

That sounds about like what mine is doing Most all the time

sounds feasable. You could probably add a remote switch in between too so you have he option to turn it off still.

Actually I just realized I have it backwards. The wire needs to be grounded to *close* the bypass. Pulling the 5A fuse in the engine compartment (or adding a switch) would leave the bypasses open even when in "quiet" mode. If it wasn't raining, I would test this right now.

I think the cleanest, but least flexible, way is to plug the vacuum lines. I think if you disconnect the solenoid/vacuum pump you'll throw a code.

Hmmm, that's a possibility yep.

I'll try it the easy way first and see if I get a code.

If I get a code then I'll measure the solenoid and have a relay swap in a resistor so the ECU sees the correct load.

I can confirm the k309 ruined my car. The k309 update was actually for emission purposes - the reduced exhaust noise was intended. This is directly from JNA.

I'm screwed. Do not do update K309 for those of you who haven't already.

So k309 is reducing pops but you still get the wide open roar when you step on it right?

This is absolutely not true. The original K309 removed pops and cracks from my exhaust. The updated version returned the car to the way it sounded originally. My car has the updated K309 - it roars, pops and cracks on demand anywhere in the rev range.

Whiever told you that is feeding you a line.

I got that straight from JNA - of the folks I dealt with, they did not figure this out until Jag Tech and Jag Engineering starting looking at this and, then put their heads together came back with that response. They're now exploring writing new code and/or reverting back.

The updated version of K309, JTB495 - as I understand this is for MY 2014 & 2015 and does not apply to my MY2016.

I get wide open roar on acceleration sometimes. When it's working normally, it's loud. But it's not consistent. Seems to work less than it doesn't.

So I know this is blasphemy, but if I wanted to reduce the pops and crackles significantly, is that an option? Mine seems to do it much too often. But quiet mode is too quiet when cruising. They pops are quite noticeable even in quiet mode. I love loud mode but the pops are getting to be too much..very loud.

that is indeed blasphemy!

You might be able to ask about k309 for your car, san the JTB495.
