Default 2014 F Type S v Type R

New member here so feel free to kick
me on this one 😂😂

Im trying to figure out the key difference between the F Type S V8 abs later Type Rs.

Currently have a 2016 ATSV sedan and my sons are getting big enough to make driving the car unpleasant, so considering a coupe or vert

also really like the XKR-S but I don’t know enough about the models yet

The XKR is a very different car from the F-Type - not so much of a hooligan as the F-Type. I've had both and have no idea which is "best".
The F-type is a much newer design. of course.

The 2014-15 V8S has the eight cylinder engine and is identical mechanically to the 2015 R. Both had RWD. In 2016 the V8 became the R in the US and was AWD. The horsepower for 2014-15 for the RWD is 495bhp. The R in 2016 was 550bhp for AWD. The car is still mechanically the same engine just the tune was upped.

The XKR-s is a little closer to the Ftype but still a 2+2 (fake back seat ) GT vs a roadster or coup sports car. The Ftype is more fun in most of its configurations. Six or 8, RWD or AWD are all great but purely subjective based on what you like. All can be tuned or modified to meet your preferences.

Thanks for the reply. This is what I was hoping to find, mechanically is the S the same as the R.
