Default 2014 V6 S. picking it up this week

Afrer months of going back and forth between a used 911 or F Tyoe I finally decided on the F Tyoe. This was a very difficult decision for me because I've owned 3 Porsche's and never thought I would pick the Jag over the Porsche.
I purchased from a Jag dealer and I feel extremely confident about my decision.

Good choice. I have had 5 911's over the years and can't imagine getting another again in the future. Second to none in terms of driving dynamics but they are just not special as an ownership proposition.

I see around a half a dozen Porsches on the road each and every day. I doubt I have seen half a dozen F Types in 3 and a half years of ownership. Still such a special feeling car after all this time.

For a 911 to be in the same price bracket of a used V6 F type, it would have to be 10 years old, have 100,000 miles on it or be a salvaged car! LOL

Welcome! You surely won't regret it! Smiles/gallon ratio is off the charts!

So true. I don't understand why 911s hold their value so well. I think this is because both boomers and GenYs like them.

i can't believe that I purchased the very first f-type I ever drove.
After the test drive and putting a deposit on the vehicle, I sat in my Jeep for a half hour reflecting what I had just experienced. I was in awe, shocked. I have NEVER felt so connected to a car before. It was unreal.

Some suggestions to ensure happy ownership

1. Change engine oil and filter. Just like nobody washes the rental car, nobody changes engine oil on a car about to be sold. With direct injection and unreasonably long manufacturer recommended service interval you are risking sludge issues.

2. If you don't have records, consider changing brake fluid and coolant.

3. Change transmission fluid and filter. Lack of maintenance is #1 reason AT dies.

4. Clean up inside of soft top compartment. It attracts dirt and mildew and has to be periodically cleaned and rear seal conditioned.

Well said! Other cars can be faster, lighter or more nimble but I can't think of any other car that gives me more smiles per gallon. Definitely more smiles per gallon than a Boxster S I drove, although the Boxster does handle brilliantly.

Congratulations, and welcome.

Now: what's the lowest mileage you've destroyed a set of new rear tyres in? I promise you it will be fun...

The first time I drove an F-Type was one the Porsche dealership here had on their lot and it was all over from there-- Threw away all my plans for a 981 or 991 and blew up my budget to get an R.
