2016 In Control Remote is Pretty Slick...
I'd love to make this work on the manual, some of the winters up north get very cold. Getting into a toasty car is priceless....
To be fair, when I was looking at a 2015, I was also told that the In Control APPS would be updated and more would be released as time went by. I was never told that the In Control REMOTE would ever be available for 2015 though.
They are 2 separate features.
Maybe not a practical, but fun to watch the valet when yo start your car after he parks and locks it. But I do live in Los Angeles and it gets hot so running the car with AC before I get to my car will be very practical.
The app also gives you a map back to where your car is parked and if it is i a huge lot you can use your phone to flash the lights ans sound the horn.

Still I didn't buy this car for the tech. My other car serves that purpose.
Would love an answer to the question I posted earlier on the jaguar SOS rep programming the navigation.
Incontrol apps which is upgradeable and available since ftype launch. That is the crappy system that duplicates a few smartphone apps on the nav screen.
Incontrol remote which is the vehicle monitoring system new to 2016.
Jaguar has always stated that incontrol apps would be upgradeable since it is just software. Incontrol remote requires hardware and there is no way that can be upgraded. You have to read the marketing material very very carefully and thoroughly to pick that up. A little sneaky on their part.
The SOS button is for Emergencies. It's not the Chevrolet "onstar".
Wasn't planning on it. A neutral detect switch would have to be implemented and designed into the transmission just like the reverse light switch has been. Not very feasible post-production.
Okay and just to be clear, there is no concierge button then like BMW?
If so that's disappointing. It's an obvious add once you have the cell connection for the SOS and the tracker.

Newsflash: Canadian MY2016 cars will NOT be getting InControl Remote. I hate to say it but Jaguar Canada really sucks compared to Jaguar USA. The cars themselves are pretty much identical, but they really don't seem to want to do much else -- 4 years warranty, one scheduled maintenance, no InControl Remote etc.
It seems Canada isn't considered to be first-tier in the global marketplace.

When I found out that maintenance wasn't covered beyond the first, I accepted that. But now to hear that a new '16 feature is not included for us Canucks. That sucks.
I ordered my car under the impression that I'd be getting some new "remote" features and the dealer said they'd be included. Time to call them back and negotiate some form of compensation.
OMG, are you kidding me?

Dude, it's the principle. It's like we don't count north of the 49th parallel.
But the car's so damn sexy, I may have to overlook this.

My sense is that Jaguar Canada hasn't bothered to work on the connectivity contracts needed to support such a tool. That's the only explanation I can think of.
The issue might also be that due to the weakness of the CND, that Jag had to pare features in order to hit a viable price point. The V6S costing USD 77,300 in the U.S. sells for only USD 70,500 in Canada (CND 84,900)
What would it cost? A cellular receiver and some software changes (that are probably there already).
