Cellular received is probably $200. At least thats what the home alarm companies charge for one. It's not a lot of dough, it enables them to standardize more. My sense is it is simply they haven't negotiated a service provider contract in Canada so left it out.

Um, whilst home alarm companies charge $200 retail, I was thinking about the raw manufacturing cost for the part.

If it is just negotiating a contract, then build it in and in a few months when they DO have a contract, we're good to go.

But may be that is too simple.

Anyone having trouble creating an account? I can't get past the selection of country. I click on United States and the next page shows an error has occurred.

Agree completely. The cost of the system - modem, switches, button, etc. can't be more than $50. They should have chucked it in.

But then again - there's always the ******* who complains that the SOS button doesn't work so maybe that's why the leave these things out.

I never experienced your error, HOWEVER, I could NOT get the account to register using an ATT.Net email address. (I think it was an ATT issue, though.) I still have not received the three emails to confirm account set up to ATT, so I changed to a generic hotmail address and Poof worked like a charm!

If you are going to be doing any performance driving my advice is to turn it off. If you are in an accident or if the cops get a search warrant the data log can be used against you in court. The data is there on most new cars but it is usually encoded. Having ready access to it without the need to hire someone to decode it makes it an easy target for those who would do you harm.
