Default 2016 F-Type R Pre-purchase Inspection

Hello,

I'm looking to purchase a used 2016 F-Type R from Bangor, Maine. Please do you have any recommendations for pre-purchase inspectors in the area? Also, are there know F-Type issues to look out for? Thanks a lot.

If it's from a Jag dealer, that's their responsibility to do a full inspection. if IT'S NOT A JAG DEALER, TAKE IT TO ONE FOR INSPECTION ! I believe it costs around $300. from a jag dealer. And if you live in Maine, consider AWD. ISSUES: check the stereo that most people find a problem with.

I believe Scarborough Jaguar is the only Jag dealer in Maine. They've participated in all 3 of RickyJay's Lobster/Blueberry runs, and I was impressed enough by them that I bought my XE there.

MaineJagMike here is the GM - you could PM him.

slightly incorrect, the Jaguar dealership is only responsible for an inspection if the car is CPO'ed. if its not, its just a used car sitting on the lot.

Really, the whole point of a PPI is to get an INDEPENDENT third party expert review the vehicle and not the selling dealer. This eliminates any bias and should offer more reliable results. Any dealer who stands behind their product will be absolutely fine with this, as it is very common practice.

I tell you the failures that I am living. I bought my R 2015 a month ago. I did it in Germany and brought it to Spain. In a month I realized that the central aerator does not rise, it seems that there is a fault in the pedestrian protection system, the road lights are not set automatically, the GPS sometimes does not work and the active exhaust system never closes ... the seller insists that before the trip by truck those things were fine, that the car was checked in more than 170 points ... luckily I bought the car with a 2 year Jaguar approved warranty.

Regarding the central aerator: do you have it set to Auto? If so, it apparently only rises to deliver cold air, so in auto mode may or may not elevate. You can set it to always rise, maybe worth checking?

Hope you can get the issues sorted so you can enjoy your Jag!

Never rises, only 1cm. Luckily, all those failures are details that do not matter to me when I have the guarantee.

I am enjoying the car as a small child

Thanks!

That's mine! Apart from the wheels, and the steering wheel's on the wrong (ie. not right ) side.
Nice catch for someone.

Mike,

That looks pretty much like my car except for black side sills. Is it a 2016? Still loving the looks after 3 years. Great color combo.
