Default 2016 Jaguar Ftype R headlight broken help

Was driving down the freeway and a huge rock broke my headlight, any ideas if the whole headlight needs to be replace? Or if I can buy just the clear part that broke? My lights work perfect and no warning messages on my dashboard

You will need a new headlight, I don't think it is possible to remove and replace the outer glass without doing major damage to where it is glued and clipped on.
Fairly sure you can't get the outer glass by itself anyway.
Usually plenty of used ones on Fleabay but they ain't cheap.

Buy used. A forum member quoted $6036 for a new headlight assembly for a 2019.

At that price (plus fitting) sounds like worth talking to your insurance - that is what it is for.

The 'generic' procedure in order to replace clear headlamp covers is to warm-up the broken assembly in an oven. Then remove the old plastic using floss to 'cut' the old adhesive. Re-attach and seal with a flowable window sealer like Permatex 81730. Plenty of YouTube vids for other cars...

If you decide to replace the entire light assembly, be aware that there are different configurations...EG, some include cornering lights.
