Default 2016 Pricing

Any idea of when the 2016 pricing will be out? I am going to order a 2016 but want to wait for the pricing.

Thanks

If you have already decided to place an order, why wait for pricing?

I placed my order in December.

Just negotiate as you would normally, the dealer will write it up based on your negotiated discount.

You probably have at least a few more weeks until pricing is announced.

BTW -
pricing has been announced for all options - the only thing you're waiting for is base price & destination

+1. I negotiated my deal at Thanksgiving. MSRP (whatever that turns out to be) minus discount. In my case it was a flat amount. Others are getting percentage discounts. I've been hearing that pricing would be out by the end of February, but here we are. Can't be long now since first deliveries are scheduled within the next 3-4 weeks.

Correct. The dealers have the option pricing. Given the current strength of the US$, I'm hoping price doesn't climb too much even with the added features that were options for 2015.

If I take my dealership's timeline literally, and map it out, there's a strong liklihood that my R will arrive before pricing information is actually released.

They'll just hold the car at the port prep facility until the pricing is established. However, this is poor business practice. World class manufacturers ensure that materials move from the ground to the consumer ASAP. It would be hard to believe they would slow things down for a pricing decision.

This is much more common than you'd think. We yard hold our cars all the time for various reason. Mostly because of issues, but sometimes it can be from other holdups too. I never understood why you would ship cars before they're ready... if you have issues I'd think it be better that they were all in the same place, but the powers that be seem to think otherwise.

The only thing I need to know is the cost of the carbon fiber roof ---- Since I don't like the local Jag dealership, I am ordering it through another local car dealership which is owned by a large conglomerate that also owns an out of state Jag dealership. So I really don't have direct contact with a Jag dealership to find out the cost.

I just received an email from my dealer regarding my 2016 order. He does not have official pricing yet, however, he told me that the 2016 with the same options will be approx 2500 CHEAPER than the 2015. So, the base price will go up, but when you add in the costs of the now standard features that used to be add ons, per him, I will save money on a 2016. We shall see. Does this mean I get AWD for free?

Why do people keep asking the forum about pricing? The dealer is where you get pricing. They have no reason to hide it. I bet once '16's are out people will start asking about '17's. An excuse to never actually buy!

What do you think the discounts will be like on the '17's?

I'm sure deals will be better on '18's!

The reason people keep asking is that you can't order a 15 anymore and the 16s start arriving in March. People would like to know how much they will have to pay for the cars that they have already ordered and put deposits on. Not an unreasonable expectation. Oh, and the dealers usually know after the rest of us do. The trade rags usually spill the beans before Jag tells the dealers.

Where else can we vent? I've e-mailed Jaguar, have been referred to my dealer, who just shrugs. Why is it so difficult to tell what the damn price is going to be on a car? My local dealer just wants to sell me something they already have in inventory and if that's the case, let me know what the 2016 will cost so I have some leverage on their current stock.

This makes no sense to me - the base on the 2015 R was $99,000... add the pano roof ($1200) & power hatch ($750) that's $100,950 + destination

If the base price of the 2016 R goes up, how do you end up saving $2500 ???

Keep in mind that's what a salesperson said. Consider the source.

I too plan on ordering a 2016 F-Type R. But would never order not knowing the cost of the car.

My second problem is I live in southern California and while I have numerous dealers to choose from, I have no idea whom to choose from. There are a few dealers, or one I know of that I woild never purchase from. But until Jaguar releases pricing, it doesn't make any sense to start shopping.
