Oh, I'm well aware of that, and that there will always be those like you in every crowd.

I can't make up my mind. There seems to be some good discounts for the v8s. I was even considering a slightly used certified 2014 v8s for 22K off MSRP before any negotiating. But on the other hand I'm tempted to wait for AWD R. Don't have to worry about bad weather/rain often in So Cal but it would instill a bit more confidence on winding roads too.

I drive the Coupe R very hard in the twisty canyons of SoCal and not once has the car felt like it was going to cut loose. I can take the corners at higher speeds than with the awd TT-RS I replaced it with. With traction control on I find the RWD R very forgiving. Personally, unless you live where it snows or rains a lot, I would ****** up that V8S which is no doubt a steal at this point.

If the price is right, grab it. Some of the best pricing is for what Jag calls "VIP demos".

Be careful with that. "VIP demo" could be code for "media car". You know what those guys do to the cars.

I know someone who has had 2 different Porshe demos and has had nothing but problems, got rid of the first one, now the second on just had to have the valves replaced. Both under warranty, but always in the shop. Lot of people who demo a car or lease a care don't care, because the know they aren't going to keep it, so they abuse the hell out of it.

I've also been burned by dealer demos. I purchased a BMW 740i with 2K miles for my wife some years back. It was infested with electrical gremlins and burned about 2 qts of oil every 1K miles. The dealer said that amount of oil consumption was "within normal specs." At 8K miles consumption was up to 3 qts/1K miles. Shortly after that, the engine was replaced, which took more than a month. The gremlins could not be exterminated.

It could not be lemon-lawed because it was a different issue every time, so we dumped it soon after at a huge loss.

On the other hand, I've also had very good experiences with demos and certified pre-owned vehicles. You never know . . .

Since you mentioned, I rather have Democrat = Socialist than clowns from the other side as since 1953, the US GDP and stock markets have far higher returns under Democrats than Republicans. So, you want slow GDP growth, useless wars, lower standard of living and crashing stock market, go Republican.

Also, Southern Republican states are biggest welfare queens sucking money out of socialist states.

Would it be possible to get this thread back on track (2016 pricing)?

This is why it would be good to disband the united states and move to a European Union like model. Then we can all move to the most Switzerland like state.

Good idea, but what would be more useful is if someone created a sticky thread where the first post actually contained 2016 pricing.

This thread is mostly useless - at least at first glance.

I think dealer demos never make sense economically. They are never ever aggressive enough on pricing.

I once tried to buy a 2011 BMW demo, and in the end I bought a new 2012 model via European Delivery for a lower price than what I could get on the 2011 demo.

Rumor has it MY 16 owners may be in for a pleasant surprise. I had heard that part of the reason for the delay might be due to a new service warranty program. Read: longer and more inclusive. I was told final meetings are scheduled for the weekend.

Disclaimer: this is only hearsay and to be taken with a grain of salt.

When it comes to order calls and pricing, I already have a whole salt mine where my F-Type should be sitting.
