Default 2017 6 Speed Coupe

Hello all. Just purchased a 2017 coupe with 6 speed. Love the car. Daily driver. I have read how few 6 speeds were sold and that the option was discontinued. So my question is this: future collectible? TY

Future collectible? It's been discussed. My own feeling is that by the time mine is collectible it'll be too used to be very collectible.

Congratulations. It’s a “harmless enough” question and as lizzardo states, it’s been discussed numerous times on this Forum. I suspect that if it ever does become “collectible” a fair number of Forum members will be dead by then. Oh, sorry...too morbid a thought.

As an aside, and while on the subject of collectible/valuable...I am astonished - and partly dismayed (not that it actually matters to me) - when I see countless cars, say on BringATrailer, which have ridiculously low mileage. Sure that would increase the value but I am of the strong opinion that a car, regardless of what it is, is meant to first and foremost be driven. Otherwise, it’s just an expensive if beautiful paper-weight. OK, work of art. I get it but, really, what’s the point.

Enjoy your car and think not of $’s but joy and smiles.

Thank you for your answers. Very wise observations, but the collector bug refuses to leave me. i've had many cars which ai sold which have turned out be relatively rare and are now collectibles, so i wanted to get veteran members thoughts

In that case, I suspect you’re positioned nicely. Here’s an example; while maybe not considered “collectible”, I’ve been noticing, again on BaT, that manual transmission BMW wagons - which I currently own - are fetching fabulous prices and certainly carrying a premium over just “any old automatic”. Plus, wagons are strongly in demand right now. I don’t need BaT to tell me what I own is “special”, “rare”, or “desired” but it’s also a bit gratifying to know the market is there. I would think at some point down the line your MT car might hold a greater value than an AT.

Godspeed to you.
