Default 2017 Conv with MT

New to the forum, Been eyeing an out of state '17 S w/25K miles lease return being sold at non Jaguar dealer. Per Carfax, no record of any service/maintenance performed and dealer has no info. If I call my local Jag dealer w/ the VIN will they offer up any service history? The car went into service in late 2017 so it has almost 2 years left on factory warranty and just worried the they could deny any warranty claims based on previous lessor not having scheduled maintenance done to on it

If you've got the VIN you may be able to look it up yourself ... https://www.jaguar.co.uk/owners/serv...e-history.html

Thanks. i was already aware of this sight and entered the VIN. It comes up as "Vehicle not eligible for Online Service History". Other posters have indicated that this site is not work for North American customer/vehicles

That's a pity, sorry for raising your hopes.

Be careful about the 'In Service' date. I would ask Jaguar directly, Carfax indicated I had an extra year on my warranty than I actually did. The dealer had started the warranty a year earlier.

Both our Jags also showed:

LAST SERVICE RECORDED

Vehicle not eligible for Online Service History.

Can't believe in today's tech world, Jag can't even track annual services.
Or they don't want us to know, esp when our once-a-year service is avail...

As far as I can figure out Online Service History (OSH) works only in selected markets such as the UK and Europe.
It's not a NAS vs ROW thing either as it's also not available in Oz.

You are absolutely correct that this feature was never offered in the NAS market. I suspect it’s availability in UK/Europe was an EU requirement to make consumer facing service records available.

Make sure to check which version of the manual transmission it has, many is us with the first and second iterations had to have it rebuilt because of design faults and you definitely don't want either the hassle or cost of that

Surely you mean that your clutch was replaced, not that the transmission was rebuilt. There is a huge difference between those two scenarios. The question is: which iteration of the clutch unit does the car have? I think there have been four versions, if I am not mistaken.

You are right. I was careless with my language. The clutch was replaced, it was not a rebuild. No problems since.

Yes, 4 generations of clutches and two generations of flywheels.

Is Mexico considered North America for Jaguar? They get access to OSH as well.

Yes - dealer can pull up service history if you give them vin. Although they are typically not willing to share - but some do

But - if it's not on carfax then it prob wasn't serviced at dealer so they wouldn't have any info either. Maybe a lease company car that had their own contract for servicing and oil changes separately from Jag. As long as it was done that's fine for warranty - but you have to be able to prove it
