Hello all,
I'm new to Jaguar Forums and have a question please.
I have only recently brought an 2018 F-Type in the UK and I am aware of the N/S DRL issue with the newer headlights (mk2 version 2017 to 2021) i believe.
My DRL's are currently OK but I'm obviously concerned for the future of my headlights.
I have read elsewhere that if you run your sidelights all the time this will extend the life of the DRL's as the power is reduced (the DRL runs dimmer) thus not causing the melting issue.
I took a screen grab of the post and will attach it.

Can anyone confirm this is true please.
Thanks
While this approach seems logical, I doubt that there is any data logged that supports it extends the life of the DRL. Rather, ask yourself if turning on your parking lights each time you start up is worth potentially saving $5k+. I have an 18 and had my driver's side replaced last year. I was unaware of the issue until it occurred. Congrats on the F-Type, hope you enjoy it!
