Default 2020 Navigation update

Just moved to Vancouver BC and my nav alerts me to tolls on various bridges.
Informed tolls were removed a couple of years ago.
Not sure what ...if any...valuable changes would be opened up in the $199 (and 2 hours loading time with the engine running ! ) upgrade.
Upgrade is for NA .
Has anyone jumped in...is it worthwhile ?

I'm in the lower US, but I went for the update because it was missing so much information where I live. Made the GPS almost worthless because of new roads, neighborhoods, etc., and I was/am new to the area. Still don't know if it was really worth $200, but I like having things work the way they're supposed to. My wife did the update while I was out of town on business. Can't remember if she said she had it running the whole time, but she is rather technically declined, so it couldn't have been difficult to install.
p.s. don't tell her I said that.

I may update mine for the 2nd time in 7 years. I don’t depend on it that much, so I don’t need it to be very current. When I last did it (via USB), it was able to resume the update after shorter trips. Think it took 2 days of commuting to complete.

I dont use mine much either, but also like things being ready if I need to use them. Curious about the update though - do we just schedule an appointment and the dealer gets it started via USB and it updates while the car is on until its done, or can they do it quicker? thanks

The parts guy I spoke with gave me the e-address for the Nav co and said it was “easy” to do on your own.

I've done the update once. The original map steered me the wrong way once, but I too don't rely on it. It does take a long time, but the car can but it doesn't need to be all in one session. Mine completed over a couple of days commute. I recall there being a trick to getting it to resume that was not obvious, but I was able to figure it out. The instructions were not as clear as they could have been on that point.

does the e address show the price and then provide instructions? I drove Infinti's for a while and they would regularly send coupons for nav updates knowing a lot of people didn't want to pay $25 every year -they would offer it for like $189 or something but you had to go to the dealer. I had a friend who accessed some open-sourced (hacked?) applications to update his Nissan years ago and apparently it worked.

Those look like the instructions I got, but the "automatic" resumption of the update wasn't the hands-off process described. I had to make a selection of some sort (can't remember the actual steps) to get it to resume. It was similar to the initial start.
