2021 Wireless CarPlay
I have been told that the 2021 is capable of providing wireless CarPlay. This was mentioned to me when I was transferring the smartphone holder from my 2017 at the time of purchase. They specifically said, "there is a software update in the works..." Just curious if any one else if aware of this?

There is definitely no wireless CarPlay on the 2021 F-Type R-Dynamic, so presumably not on other models.
The Jag ystem rerquired your I-phone to be connected via the center USB. Another Jag miss compared to much cheaper cars!!
There is a work-around which does work quite well, using a dongle from CarLink..
The CarLink dongle attaches to the center USB in place of the I-phone and enables voice commands.
Be sure to buy the correct model.
CPC200-U2W-Plus Type C
Also, be careful to not buy direct from China in case you have an iisue and need to return it.
This approach does not solve the ongoing issue of not getting voice directions from Waze or Siri
That is a different ongoing problem caused by a JLR update back in May/June, that still has not been corrected by JLR..

As above, it's absolutely not a feature on my UK MY21 car that I purchased new in March 2020 - Android Auto requires the phone to be physically connected. Having just checked the UK 'digital handbook', the same is true of the MY22 cars too. As such, you will need an additional device as outlined by CJSJAG above (and others on this forum in the past).
As for it not being present, it's also not a feature that is on our brand new Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid (a car only released this year), despite the presence of wireless charging for the phone. That car wasn't exactly cheap either. This is no way attempting to excuse Jaguar (I don't particular care for the feature myself), just pointing out that they're not alone even in £50K cars launched this year.

I think you missed “wireless” in the question. Currently, there is not a single car in the entire JLR range that supports wireless CarPlay and I doubt the F-Type will until or if they ever switch from the old Incontrol Touch Pro system to Pivi. I suspect that will not happen until the next major F-Type upgrade.
I’ve heard that the next (imminent) release of the Pivi Pro 3.0 will support wireless CarPlay. I’m eagerly waiting for it on my Defender as the wireless charger is quite useless without it.

To add a reference point, I just bought a 2023 R-Dynamic, and it does NOT have wireless CarPlay/Android Auto. Well, at least not Android Auto since I have a Samsung, so haven't technically confirmed the lack of wireless CarPlay.
Even the wired version of Android Auto is frustrating. It completely takes over, and you have no way (that I have found) to exit out to your regular menus to do things like adjust audio settings or phone settings, etc. I get that you probably aren't messing with those all the time, but the fact that I am "stuck" in the Android Auto view makes it unusable for me. I will stick with Bluetooth for audio and phone calls and use a phone mount for Waze (I also have been unable to get my SMS messages to display on the Infotainment screen, but I don't mess with that stuff while driving anyway).
Frustrating to be so close but so far away, especially after dropping a pretty penny.
