Tempting. I built one to my specs and came out to $113900. Only $1K more than my 2016 R AWD sold for new (no longer with me). As soon as I find out what Chevrolet plans to do with the upcoming Z06, I will have some decisions to make. The short list right now is mostly preowned:

Aston Martin DB11 or Vanquish
McLaren 570S
Lamborghini Huracan

I will now put a new 2022 F Type R AWD on the list. Thanks for the link.

Interesting. No more 4 cylinder or V6 models and a RWD V8 is the new base model. I wonder how many buyers will feel that a $10,000 increase just for AWD will be justified ? I'd like to see a well respected automotive publication do a track test between the 444 HP RWD and 444 HP AWD models and really compare the performance difference.

Also I am curious when the factory will actually start producing the 2022 model. If immediately, the 2021 F Type were probably made in pretty small numbers due to the Covid shutdown.

So, I just rebuilt my 2021 BRG convertible P380 (V6) as a 2022 P450 (V8) - identicle specs except for engine.
MSRP on the 2021 V6 was $93,475 vs $96,361 for the 2022 V8
So, JLR is not doing any favors to existing owners by basically giving away the V8 for the price of the V6.
Seems like they just lowered resale prices (once panic pandemmic buying is over).
I am glad that at least I actually got an $8,000 incentive discount from JLR so ended up paying $85.475 for the P380.
About the same time I was buying, they were still trying to sell used 2020 R's for over $100K - not any more.

I just I did my '14 V6S and it came out at about $90,500 against mine at $94,600! More car, updated car, less money!

I just looked on listings for neww Ftypes and saw $10k discounts on R Dynamics everywhere, strange since inventory is so low. Wonder how lack of P300 will effect sales as it appears to be the best seller.

We saw the same thing about 10 years ago when VW started first building cars in TN.
They effectively dropped the price for the better design US model Passat by $10K (20%) compared to the older German design.
Anyone who unknowingly bought the German version the previous year really got hammered on resale
I guess it is an admission that prices were too high for the market.
As for F-Types. I guess we are a breed (of big cats) apart!!

I think people who order the base model RWD and spend another $10,000 or so on options like a full leather upgrade, metallic paint, and other goodies are going to have a very nice car for about $80K.

444 HP is still nothing to sneeze at, a huge step up from a 300 HP four pot and the AWD probably wouldn't be missed.

Hi,

I saw this ad. Does anyone know what this is? It almost looks like a retouching error. The seat headrest wouldn't have that angle and curvature.

My F-Type certainly doesn't have a curved part of the passenger seat there.

Thanks!

Isn't it just the corner of the protector hoop ?

I think it's taken with a fish eye lens to get the whole interior in, and it distorts the picture near the corners.

It must just be camera distortion, but it looks awkward and like it would be in the way of the passenger. Thanks for your responses!
