You want to delete them? Are you nuts?

Ofcourse NOT! But I heard that happened to the 2016 or 17’s. They just did it without telling anyone.

Yes, in the early days, the infamous k309 update neutered the sound on many F-types. I was lucky in that my car received k309b, which didn’t seem to do anything to the sound. I think there was also a later update that did something similar, and I guess some more recent f-types were quieter from the factory to start with.

Some people make sure the service dept is told to not install any updates to avoid this issue. Some won’t even take their car to a dealer.

That was totally illegal to take away features that were already paid for. That’s why I asked because you gotta sue to get things reversed.

What they did was totally illegal

I'm willing to bet that there is some fine print somewhere that would say otherwise, but I understand your frustrations.

Software updates from a manufacturer to comply with federal or state rules is completely legal, and they are allowed to modify the software as JLR sees fit (at least in the US). However, your 2022 already has the software updates baked into the ECU, and you also have the GPF filters installed which makes the car quieter still. So you don't need to worry about software updates--your car already had everything when you bought it.
