Default 2023 F-Type

I am highly skeptical of all the claims made in this article. This is the first information I have seen on a 2023 model. Has anyone else seen any information on a 2023?

If the company is strapped for cash I can't see them putting much development into a revamped F-Type (unless it's electric! ) - more sensible to put it into the higher selling models.

That article sounds highly speculative. Too many times it says "should" and not enough that say "will."

I'd prefer that instrument cluster though. It looks like it might provide the information I want in a place I can actually see it.

If you actually read the article, it says there are minor exterior changes. Definitely goes against the picture they are showing 🙄

I suspect the '23 F-type will be the same as the '22 until it is discontinued in the very near future due to JLR going electric.

Conflicted article. The engines described are simply the 2022 choices. Functional features are current. Exterior changes are described as minor, while the pictures are distinctly different. No mid-ship engine, as purported by others (also suspect). No electric/hybrid in the strategic vision. I can't see JLR having the resources (staffing/money) to do much on the F-Type. I just hoping that's it's flagship status will push them to do SOMETHING to keep it going.

Looks like utter nonsense to me and that whole site doesn't look particularly reliable. 2022cars.com huh? Someone did a pretty good photoshop job using images of the CX-75 and I-Pace though.

Probably should wait for a fair number of '22's to be delivered before we worry about '23.

The illustrations are delightful, but this has got to be a pipe dream. Jaguar is going to do what everyone else is doing, make electric SUVs. Given the success of the F-Type in the market place, or the lack thereof, I expect it will just go away quietly. Sports cars are a thing of the past. I can go 6 months in a major metropolitan area and not see another F Type. There are more Ferraris on the street.

Good sports cars are not going away. Currently people are waiting for Porsche, new SL or corvette more than 1 year and gladly paying MSRP or even higher.

Heavliy photoshopped pic along with poor writing and research, since when is the 575 HP 5.0L a new engine for Jag? You just have to love a website where every article is bylined by admin

Can they just put the front grill's center bar back in and restore the exhaust note? Secondarily, I'd love to see an infotainment screen that was as comparatively "fast" as the current model but had the physical buttons from original F-Type's infotainment screen.

X2

Look at all the interest in the not-yet-on-sale Lotus Emira. That car (which is currently on a 'pre-production' tour of the USA at various dealers) has deposits equal to 3x the sales of the current Evora.

Yup... And comes with just a SC Toyota V6 to boot (or an AMG I4 eventually).

"Look at all the interest in the not-yet-on-sale Lotus Emira." Could you quantify that. My WAG is that Lotus sells maybe 1500 cars a year world wide, out of 16,000,000.

You are correct about the low number of total Lotus sales.

As of September, there were more than 5000 First Edition Emiras spoken for (from what I have read). Lotus' is optimisic however, they have invested in more production capacity in England.

Not quite as many as for some of the new Ford models, for example. Did I read that there had been 100,000 deposits for Broncos and Mavericks?

You really just can't compare Lotus to other auto manufacturers. They are a niche company.
How many cars do McLaren sell? Morgan? The waiting list for the Emira is out at least 2 years. How do I know? Because I am on the list and have seen the car in person. It's amazing.
