Men would be better served in life and career with an XE.
I'd be more impressed by a man with a Focus R. Shows they still know how to have fun.

An XE is a fine weekday family hauler.

Ford didn't request any Gov loans, which it is not the same as telling them to "stuff it." It's not like the Gov was saying, "here please take bail-out money." Companies had to apply for and make a case for it, but Ford found a way to do without. Ford also left the door wide-open and suggested they might come back if the need arose. As I said, they also strongly supported and lobbied for the "bailouts." That's hardly like telling the Gov. to stuff something.

I know, since I worked on Capitol Hill then, that Ford's announcement that they didn't anticipate the need for rescue funding made the Gov happier than it likely made Ford. It was one of the rare good pieces of good news in the auto industry in those dark days. Fortunately, it was a happy ending for Chrysler (with Fiat's help), Ford, GM, and the Gov as things turned around more quickly than expected for the U.S. auto industry.

Have you actually driven the XE?

I can't imagine anyone who has referring to it that way.

Agreed, but it's a bit academic. The Focus RS is essentially sold out. There are only 3 listed on cars.com in the entire U.S.

So would Rock Hudson.

Alas the power of advertising; we have convinced folks a man looks good in a hatchback with a wing.

Hahahahaha! I have to say that bewinged hatchbacks are a little weakness of mine - an affection that I developed from PC racing games. But I agree that if I was single, I wouldnt be looking to a hatch with a wing as evidence of my masculinity.

But back on track, I'd be happy enough with a 4 cyle F Type if it performed well enough and had a decent exhaust note, provided the cost was a fair discount on the 6.

I personally think these discussions of masculinity are a bit silly. I think better approach is to look at it as: 'aggressive looks' and 'performance and handling'. For example, Mustang is an example of aggressive looking car on the road today. Lotus Elise is an example of performance and handling.

If we take all the psychological factors off the table, an electric car is infinitely a better choice is performance, handling and sensibility.

The purpose of a Focus RS is to make all the other drivers of an otherwise douchy car feel like they have thoroughbred linage. Which will make them the worst drivers on the road. When they pull out in front of you and slow you down, in their minds they will have the faster car.

I can't imagine anyone referring to it. Most people don't even know about the F-Type. The XE is a mini-XF and might as well be invisible.

It's a sizeable 4 door sedan. How else would you refer to it?

A Jaguar's rarity is that its built mostly to impress the owner and those unswayed by trends. But in CA, trying to make an impression with any car is as futile as trying to impress a call girl with endurance.

OK. But what does that have to do with... Anything?

Its to do with other people not knowing what a ftype is and XE being invisible.

So, to be clear, one car that looks identical to another is an example of rarity to impress its owners, but not in California, or hookers.

Homer is that you?
No one buys a XE to impress others. Not in a big city. Not everyone wants to impress others- is that not rare in California.

... Regardless, not many will be talking about them, yes? All these passive aggressive projections, are you actually trying to make a point in there someplace? Or is this just a substitute for therapy?

I dunno. Most of the people I've met in the Bay Area don't care much what anyone thinks of them (even though or perhaps because they are some of the most brilliant people in the world).

I wish they would just give me a menu to point to, they can never understand a word I am saying.

BTW, we have the near identical garage, minus the minis and bike.
