Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how one looks at it, I was not driving the Jag.
Those roads were continuous loops, hairpins, steep ups, and even steeper downs.
About 250 miles of it would have been a great F-Type drive.
The rest would have been impassable in the Jag!!.
All rubble, dirt, boulders and mega pot holes.
But the 1.5 liter Geely GX3made the trip without damage, mostly in manual shift mode.
Needless to say, while I did see several JLR vehicles, there were no F-Types!!
Was there about a year ago... Drove a Toyota AWD Small SUV, it was a blast going up and down the steep hills. The only problem I had was the idiot in front of me in their front wheel drive car and they would go so slowly that they got stuck 1/4 up the hill. I had to get out of the car and help push them up...Finally, I got impatient and just passed them when I thought they would slow down and get stuck again. I would never drive an F-Type in Costa Rica with the car swallowing pot holes. The most crazy drive I did was in Mykonos, Greece where the road was washed away and there were one lane roads where you were nearly falling off the cliff while trying to go over a boulder. Luckily I had a 4x4 Jeep.

I'm most likely going to start sending the group communications out after next Saturday. But, any registrations that come in after that, I should get notified and it will be easy enough to get you looped in. That said, heck, just show up if you can - we'll be happy to have you.

Quick update. If you are planning to attend, please make sure to register for the event! This event is coordinated across several Facebook groups in addition to online. As we get closer, it will be impossible to make sure that all channels get all updates so we will default to email and WhatsApp.

If you are registered, you should have received the first event email. This went out a few moments ago from f-type.org. Only one email bounced so otherwise you should have received the notice. Let me know if not.

www.f-type.org for registration

Quick check to make sure everyone received the initial email. I’m starting to consolidate communications so please make sure that if you’ve registered on the website, you received an email from me @f-type.org.

In that email was a link to the WhatsApp chat.

We have one room that opened up for Tapoco. Call them today to book, if you’re interested in snagging the room. I think it will go to public availability on Monday. Remember to use the event code.

Was anybody in a red F-type in the Smokies Tuesday?
Also saw a gray F-type with some Porsches and Italians heading north on 75 around Lexington,KY yesterday. Looked like a rally of some sort.

Twas a good weekend! I was the guy in the white car chasing the blue Porsche GT4 down the dragon when y'all were coming up it. Awesome to see 30+ f-types coming at us with everyone waving. I eventually got turned around and caught back up but was stuck in back so we eventually went our own way and didn't get to meet anyone. Saw y'all again at the restaurant outside Tellico but it was too busy to get in so we went on up and back over to the dragon for another pass (it was dead by then) before heading home. Hope everyone had a great time!

Pictures please, or it didn't happen! There are those of us who could not go and would like to enjoy it vicariously.

Just got home yesterday from this event - @MellieR did a fantastic job, and we had a great time meeting the Type owners. Also loved slaying the dragon and other roads in our Sportbrake. @rbr bring yours next year?

If you haven’t heard of the Tail of the Dragon, it is a bucket-list road for many motorcycle and car enthusiasts in North America.

What started as an idea on a Facebook group in 2019 has become one of the must-do F-Type activities of the year.

Details are coming together and updates will be provided soon.

Greetings,
I met your group of F Type Rs at Deals Gap and even got to do some spirited driving with a few of them with my white XFR up the Gap to Tampoco. Great group of people and very welcoming and willing to chat. Not to mention killer cars... beautiful would be an understatement. I failed to get the website info for your guy's club. If someone has that information I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

The event is hosted by FType Forever Facebook group but shared across the various groups on FB and on this forum, as well as Reddit. We’ve staged a website for the annual event at f-type.org, but I’ve disabled chat there as we already have these forums, plus the FB groups.

Glad we got a chance to meet and see your sweet ride, as well.

Glen took photos of each vehicle as we were staging. 33 vehicles total in our group. https://glenjust.com/RoadTrips2023/T...513/index.html

Killboy and 129photos both grouped us all together.
