Talking 6 Speed Order Call

The first order call for the MT models originally scheduled for January 28 has now been rescheduled (delayed) to open for orders on February 3 (next Tuesday). I should finally get a delivery date estimate sometime next week. '16 pricing is still not available.

Default Order Call Delayed Once Again

U.S. MT order calls delayed until February 5.

Default And again!

No new order call date established for the MT coupe despite the February 5 deadline passing. One of the Land Rover models has the same issue. Something must be going on.

all the orders getting delayed because of the shipping accident? guessing they must be trying to redo some of those orders.

I was wondering about that as well.

I thought this might be a possibility, but my car is scheduled to be delivered sooner than originally projected. I wonder if it was just too soon for them to react.

I'll try to get more info from my dealer this week, but as you know, they are typically the last to get this kind of info.

Stohlen, did you order a 2016 and have a delivery date set? I'm being told '16 manual transmission delivery date of July.

dschauer, did your dealer give you a common order number and specific delivery date or was July just an estimate? My dealer is saying that JLR will not yet let him enter an order for the MT despite having an allocation for an MT coupe.

Ihoyboy, Dealer has not given a common order number or delivery date. Dealer referenced the following bulletin from Jaguar: The 2016 model year powertrains have a staggered launch at the Castle Bromwich plant.
Key timing for the F

· 1st Dealer Order call: RWD: December 2014
AWD: November 2014

AWD: February 2015
Manual: April 2015
· Start of Sales: RWD: March, 2015 (as a 2016 Model Year)
AWD: April 2015
Manual: July 2015
(All dates subject to change; look for upcoming announcements from JLR NA Distribution for details

This is certainly consistent with Stohlen's R delivery date and the inability of my dealer to enter an order into the system for the MT.

Default Just in:

Text message from Jag rep to Sales Manager at my dealership regarding 6 speed production: "..., I just spoke with our distribution manager for North America and pushed him for a timeline. He said potentially a late March order for a May build. He went on to clearly state that this is tentative at this point..."

I'm wondering if this is informally demand-based. Dealers must have some kind of feeling for customer demand, even though orders aren't yet being accepted. I wonder if this is being fed back to JLR.

Perhaps so. The rest of the message goes on to say: " Please email me the customers spec information and I will forward it on in an attempt to expedite the process for your customer."

I would also guess that JLR's initial priority would be on the higher dollar models (e.g. AWD) where profit margin is probably greater than for base manuals.

Yeah, estimated delivery date is March 20th, but my car is scheduled to arrive in the Baltimore port on March 26th, so it could be earlier.
