Indeed, though that would be interesting gearing if they achieved the same speed. I’ve found it interesting that R owners report better mileage at highway speeds than the V6, which I presume is due almost entirely to the V8 diff’s higher gear ratio.

100% off topic, but something the geeks and nerds would appreciate. I’ve been in a convoy of F-types many times, usually right behind the leader. When the road clears, he puts his foot down, and I’m right on his tail. We both have V6S, automatic, and propeller wheels. So our engines should turn at very close to the same speed. I swear on multiple occasions, I’ve heard a beat frequency between our screaming engines. Pretty cool, IMO.

I wasn't intending to make those equivalent! I guess at highway speeds the V8 is just ticking over nicely, whereas the V6 tends to be a bit more "screamy". That was my impression when I test drive a V6 anyway (convertible so that mght have influenced the sound, too).

Thank you! Yes currently it's the fastest F-Type R without nitrous or anything crazy. Stock supercharger, stock wheels. Bad traction on the 10.77 run, only with 3.0 0-60, normally with better traction I can do 2.8 on the street

My wild guess, a prepped 1200whp GT-R.

😆 It was a Red Light event at Famoso Ca track where all the fastest cars come out, lots of American muscle cars with over 1000hp and most with parachutes 😆. Track prep was sopose to be top notch but we were plagued by super heavy fog which didn't clear the whole day and 40-50f temperatures which created a lot of moisture onnsurface. Drag cars with slicks did fine since they could do a long burnout, but our car with street tires and AWD with traction not so much. The 10.7 run was with .15 sec slower 0-60 than typical for this car due to traction , the other 3 runs where just spinning and wheel hoping in first gear horribly but they were still in the ten sec 1/4th.

So the right lane vehicle continues to be a mystery?

That's a lane sponsor, has nothing to do with the cars running.

OK. I'm showing my ignorance of drag racing. I figured that the ET and name correlated to a sponsored car in some pro class.
