Default access to luggage compartment

I am brand new to this forum.

Recently I disconnected the battery because I needed to store my F Type for several months and I did not want the battery to discharge over the storage period. After disconnecting the battery, I inadvertently closed the luggage compartment hatch. Now car electrics are off and I cannot get back into the luggage compartment to reattach the battery. I was able to open the door with the emergency key in the smart key, but it did not unlock the luggage compartment. How can I get the luggage compartment open?

Try to use another battery connected to the positive terminal under the hood and a ground. This should power the vehicle unless jag does their wiring funny.

If you don't have a spare battery, you can also use a regular battery charger (not a trickle charger) to provide enough juice for the accessories.

Alternatively, if the rear compartment cover is not in place, you might be able to reach back with some kind of hook to snag the emergency release.

+1 this is what Jaguar recommends. Use jumper cables to the jump point under the hood (by the engine).

Thanks, Stohlen, Ihoboy and DJS. I will take those suggestions on board and give them a try.
