I'm happy to try to help, but it's best to compare the active exhaust (both open and closed) to the base under load and draw you own conclusions.

 

I'm not sure what model F-Type you are looking to purchase, but to help clarify for new and potential owners, I should point out that the "base" exhaust Foosh refers to is only available on the V6.

Prior to the 2016 model, the V6S had active exhaust standard, with the "switchable" active exhaust as an option. Switchable active exhaust then became standard on the 2016 V6S model.

So if you were to purchase a 2014/15 V6S without the switchable active exhaust, you will still have the active exhaust system, not the "base" system being referred to here in the thread. You would need to purchase a standard V6 model to have the non-active (base) exhaust fitted.
