I'm pretty new to the forums, and only had my F-Type for a little over a year now, but would be interested. A visual would go a long way to making a decision!

 

I would prefer not to. If I'm buying aftermarket wheels, made specifically for an F-type, I would want them to fit perfectly without any modifications.

 

I've already got wheels but my thoughts. 16mm is almost the max w/ stock tires. if one choses to upsize to the 265 fronts/ 305 rears from the svr, then it may encounter rubbing issues. I like the idea of providing a small spacer w/ the wheels so it gives the buyer an option. 5 or 6mm I believe is the max you can go with the stock studs.

 

For sure... we will be tinkering around with some stuff and hopefully can show some examples.

Here's one that's +3mm in the front and +21 in the rear (so a LOT of stagger) and is lowered.

 

That is "too much" wheel to my eyes...I like sidewall as the real world has ruts, etc. I'd be interested in 20" wheels focused on durability then on ease of cleaning...so a classic design like this works. 265/305 compatibility is a must...with no poke at those tires sizes.... Also needs to accept the OEM center cap....

OEM center cap is downright tiny. On my old F-Type, I had center cap metal badges made for about $20 that I put over the aftermarket wheel center caps.

 

Yeah I agree. That photo above isn't our target, just looking at what has/can be done and what's going to be a nice, more aggressive but sensible fitment for most people. 99% it will be 20x9.5 front and 20x11 rear, just add 1/2" and probably 10-15mm additional offset. That would allow 265/305 nicely.

 

Loving the fitment!! Can't wait to see this come to fruition!

 

Interested and watching!! There's only one wheel I've seen that looks right on the F Type lowered and stock. The company stopped making them unfortunately. I'm interested in finding another I like especially in gloss black, 20 inch.

 

I love this actually minus the gold. But I don't plan on lowering my car, so 21s+ wouldn't look right for me.

 

Doing some messing around today. This is set at +12mm front, +15mm rear, on OEM 20" wheels with 265/35/20 front, 305/30/20 rear Cup 2's. Couple considerations. On a 1/2" wider rim that sidewall will be a little less chunky and more stretch. But I don't think you'd want to go much more aggressive than this. This is with a moderate drop.

 

This is perfect stance, Stuart. I assume those wheels are 10.5 wheels at the back? With 11" width rims would +15mm give the same exact stance?

 

Those are 20x9 ET55 Front, 20x10.5 ET38 Rear. The spacers are fitted at +12mm front +15mm rear. Assuming that we picked what this fitment represents visually, in external clearance the fitment would be :

- 20x9.5 ET49 Front (internal clearance same as OEM, external clearance 12mm less)
- 20x11 ET29 Rear (internal clearance +3 mm, external clearance 15mm less.)

 

Got it, basically, with the 20x11 wheel the outside stance stance would remain the same as above rear wheel pic with the rim extending towards the inside the car to allow for a wider tire.

 

I'm running 12mm spacers w/ Gyrodynes on the R while shopping permanent replacements, so very much looking forward to this. Regarding wheel offset, believe the final wheel and tire assembly position on the car depends on the section width of the tire used.

When the tire section width will still be wider than the new rim eg, 255/35/20 PS4 has 10.2" section width; rim range 8.5-10", the 9.5" rim won't stretch the sidewalls. The 255, on a 9.5" wheel even if ET55, would sit in the same position as using stock 9" ET55 wheels - the 9.5" rim's lips would've moved 'out' 6mm or .25" relative to each side of the tire, but the tire and sidewalls on the final assembly would not relative to the car.

So for fronts I think you'd have
- 20x9.5 ET55 on 255/35/20 PS4 (section width 10.2") with the final sidewalls positions moved 0mm, or
- 20x9.5 ET43 on 255/35/20 PS4 (section width 10.2") with the final outer sidewall position moved out 12mm, or
- 20x9.5 ET49 on 265/35/20 PS4 (section width 10.7"; 6.35mm wider on each side) with the final outer sidewall position moved out 12.35mm, or
- 20x9.5 ET52 on 275/35/20 PS4 (section width 10.9"; another 2.54mm wider on each side) with the final outer sidewall position moved out 11.89mm, and inner sidewall 5.89mm closer to suspension

For rears
- 20x11 ET38 on 295/30/20 PS4 (section width 11.9") with the final sidewalls positions moved 0mm, or
- 20x11 ET23 on 295/30/20 PS4 (section width 11.9") with the final outer sidewall position moved out 15mm, or
- 20x11 ET28 on 305/30/20 PS4 (section width 12.3"; 5.08mm wider on each side) with the final outer sidewall position moved out 15.08mm

 

How this turned up? I would like VS-5RS in F-Type sizes...
