Default Alcantara / Suede headliner? Wish to upgrade

I’ve got a relatively basic R with the fabric headliner trim. Seems like Alcantara would be a really nice upgrade... Does anyone have the suede headliner option who can share pics, and do you like it?

Really wish the car had the extended leather package, but those parts are $$$ from Jag to buy at the counter. Seems like an upholstery shop could reupholster in Alcantara and the interior would feel a lot nicer.

One thing to keep in mind is that the cars with Alcantara headliners also have Alcantara trim on top of the instrument cluster on the dash as well as on the center console near the shifter so even if you could simply re-do the headliner, it would look odd & the next buyer might ask why the other parts aren't correctly covered in the same material.

At $2,200 the extended leather option is pricey but it includes leather EVERYWHERE inside so even the top of the instrument cluster as well as the center console is "swathed" in leather and I LOVE IT!

You can buy another brand of imitation suede that is as good looking and of similar quality for under $10. per running yard by 60" width. I just shipped some to another forum member yesterday to redo the headliner in his XKR. Comes in about 100 colors. Typically called Passion Suede available in most downtown textile centers for anywhere from $5.00-$10.00./yd.

Not entirely true im afraid, on my 14 R i specced alcantara and it doesnt come on the instrument cluster or center console, their covered in leather.
Iv'e seen others which are exactlly the same as well so don't know if its a model year thing.
