Default aluminum skid plates??? before I go buy OEM ones...

I need the belly pan/skid plate for my 14' V8 S. I can't seem to find anyplace with an aftermarket aluminum one, just thought I check on here before ordering the OEM plastic one.

I don't think the pan under the engine is a skid plate. Its to divert airflow under the car for better aerodynamics.

Also if the part where made of aluminum I think it would be very expensive stamping because it is a complicated shape on both sides.

I agree. It DOES collect a fair amount of heavy pebbles and other weighty debris, and as such I don't mind dropping the engine bay undertray once or twice a year during routine oil changes.

The smooth underside of the F has obviously been designed to manage airflow (why else wouldn't the OEM muffler be in a shaped 'can'? They could have saved money with open pipes).
