Question American muscle?

Been 'working' over in Abu Dhabi for the last week.
Being an avid petrol-head I've been keeping an eye and ear to what's on the roads out here.

Seems like Dodge SRT's/Hellcats, new Mustangs and Cadi's are really common.

I was on my way back from watching the Nitro-Circus shenanigans at the F1 Yas Island circuit yesterday evening, and there was a handful of muscle cars and exotica 'giving it some beans' through the tunnels that link the circuits' car parks to the main motorway.

One thing that struck me though was the exhaust notes....or the distinct lack of it. Wasn't a patch on the sound of the F-Type.

So where has the muscle gone and what's changed? As a boy growing up in the 80's, American cars always used to sound the best.

I know it's subjective, but the MB AMG-GT sounded the best, but as yet, I haven't spotted an F-Type here?

Have you heard a Mustang GT350 or Hellcat recently? Both are exceptional in the sound department. Even the regular 6.4L scat pack challenger isn't too shabby.

Have to agree; there is an underpass I go through a lot and love to show off my V8S harmonies when going through! Then a GT350 did the same and made me turn my head...lol.

The GT 350, indeed has a snarly, loud exhaust that is very aggressive. I am hoping to pick up my '72 Pantera in about a week and give it the "tunnel" test! With a "new" 500+hp engine, big bore headers and less restrictive mufflers, it should make what was already a very loud, very low frequency rumbling exhaust (sets off every car alarm from parked cars every time I have ever driven it) into a "screamer." Can't wait!

Listened to the gt350 online.... It does sound nice, but haven't seen one in the flesh yet.

I hope you can put a sound clip up?

I came close to getting a Hellcat. Actually was trying to get inline for a Demon a year ago. They are amazing cars in their own right. The Demon is a savage brute.
