It looks very interesting. How do you like the unit so far. Any negative aspects ??

 

It works fine. Starts up faster than the head unit. Bright enough to see in Texas sun, touchscreen works fine, Siri works fine, music apps and google maps all sync up fine. Only negative part is that it is added on and the power wire is visible.

 

I installed this one this evening. It was substantially more affordable around $160.

I had to lengthen three wires on the harness to give enough slack to position the box where I wanted. Seems to be a common complaint is that the harness is often too short.

Soon I'll try to test calling from inside android auto, but the music and on screen integration we were looking for is good so far.

This kit is now freezing after a few minutes and remains powered on with the ignition off. I've opened a support case with the seller for troubleshooting. It'll drain the battery in it's current condition.

 

I forgot to update regarding the behavior. This was related to a battery issue, battery tested as bad. After replacing the battery this was resolved. We've had the unit for almost a year now and it's doing everything we need.
