We were at a Restaurant last night and the Valet parked a nice Coupe next to us, what's the chance of that?

I am beginning to think I need to sell mine, just getting too common. I see another one about one a fortnight ocassionally and it's not the same one every time. Went for a nice weekend drive with the Mrs Just the other day and there was a nice coupe coming the other way.

No doubt. I've never let someone valet my S2000. My F-Type will be no different.

I went to a show last year in downtown DC. Had the SLK valet parked with a $20 tip. Good thing too. Pouring rain when we came out and the car was at the curb right in front of the venue. Valet showed up with an umbrella. Like any other profession, there are good people and bad people.

Not enough kids know how to drive a stick for me to trust valet parking anymore. Last year, the back end of my MINI was caved in because the attendant couldn't get it up a garage ramp. (The Acura behind him was in worse condition).

A couple of months ago I went to lunch at a local restaurant that only has valet parking. After lunch I approached the car from the front, took off without noticing anything and went home soon afterwards. When I left in the morning and saw my rear end, my custom made bumper/diffuser had paint scraped off and a dark color on my light silver bumper. I had just washed the car by hand that morning, and I would have noticed it had it been there. I went back to the restaurant and spoke to the manager saying I didn't need the $200 or $300 that it would take to repair, but I wanted him to know that I wouldn't be returning to the restaurant because I would not valet park it again and they offered no alternative. Consequently they would lose a customer. The valet who parked my car (who apparently works for an independent valet service), heard part of the conversation and offered that he thought my car was very special and that he did not back it into anything. I told him that it happened at this restaurant and that there were several other valets as well, any one of which could have backed another car into it. For that, he had no reply.

I went to a relative's wedding three weeks ago and the valet "peeled rubber" with every car he took away while the owners were still watching. I found street parking, thank you very much.

Finally, although certainly not the most common car on the road, I do see several F-types every day in Southern Cal. I saw two at one time while driving this afternoon.

Reports said the unnamed valet revved the engine too vigorously, causing flames to burst from the car’s rear.
If true, the valet should get fired. However, it's not road worthy if it catches on fire simply due to revving the engine.

I can't understand kids today, lot of them out there have no interest in driving period. When I was in high school, no one could wait to get their license.

To your first point, agreed, he didn't need to be revving it at all.

But to your second point, Revving a Lambo too aggressively??

On the other hand, if their faces are glued to their cellphones, I'd prefer they don't drive.

That goes for every generation. 9/10 people I see driving terribly are on their phones.

I can't wait for phone use while driving to be the equivalent of a DUI in terms of punishment.

I agree !! I'm a Road Cyclist and ride a lot of Centuries. The other one is dark tinted windows because you can't make eye contact with them so you don't know whether they've seen you before pulling out at intersections.

But as far as Valet parking is concerned, I'm always wary of where I let them park it for me, in my original post it was at Mastro's and I've got to know the Guys. They park Cars worth several times more than our F-Type on a daily basis.

Is it just me or do Lamborghini's tend to catch fire a lot? I've seen more than one. Not in real life of course.

Yes the texting while driving is insane. I see a lot of people texting with their phones in their laps while driving. At the risk of sounding sexist, I see this with more women than men. I can't think of anything so important you have to risk your life and those of others.
