I was thinking after watching the old RCR video on the F-Type R, is there any function to be had from the open vents or louvers on the front bumper or the front fenders? I know the hood louvers are open to a greater or lesser degree depending on the design, but I haven't seen anything about the others.

 

None of the "vents" you mention are actually, "vents". Just leave them alone.


In the first year we owned our F, I had been thinking of creating an exit for engine bay heat on the side "vents" ahead of the doors, but decided it was an exercise in futility.

 

When I run without the engine cover in place, I can see significant heat shimmering above the hood vents, which I don't see as much with the cover on.
