Apple Car Play Installed

My September 2018 R is having some warranty work done now. I asked if they could install CarPlay. According to the service advisor it’s done. I wonder if that steering wheel voice button will serve a purpose too now. Will let you know when it returns.

You can use the button to speak commands such as "Launch Waze", "Play playlist xyz", "Call John Doe", "Read my text messages" or "What is the temperature outside".

Is your incintrol Pro entertainment system the one with the physical buttons down both side or the wider version that has soft buttons on the screen?

I posted a thread recently with pictures of the buttons and the carplay screen. See "Installed CarPlay on my F-Type". I have a voice command button on the left side of the wheel (not the right side).

it’s the wider one without the buttons.
