Default Audi like lightshow?

I've seen a few review videos of the 2021 F type R and the headlights do a cool Audi like light show. Well, I just took delivery of a new 2021 F type R and my headlights dont do that. I've tried unlocking, locking, etc.

Anyone else have any info on that?

What is it that your headlights do not do?

And what about an Audi do you think could be considered "cool"?

My f-type do this:

If you mean this at the start , your car should do it,
If not, try to set animated light in the light menu

Yes, this is what I'm talking about. I looked for something like that in the menu but didnt see anything.

Does it only do it on startup when it is dark enough for the headlights to come on? I thought it would do it upon unlocking.

the pixel led flash show should start in every light condition (night or daylight) and when you unlock the car so you can see it when you aproach the car and unlock it

My 2021 only flashes the J shaped indicator lights upon locking or unlocking. I'll have to set up a camera or get a friend to watch the headlights when I start the car and see if it goes through that sequence like in the video. Or maybe park in front of a store with large windows to see the reflection.

I still find it odd that the headlights turn on every time I start the car in my garage even though I do not have the headlights set to Auto. In the daytime my garage is fairly well lit from the windows, open garage door and garage door light and I really don't need the headlights to come on.

I also have found the Auto headlights setting to be way too sensitive when I have tried it. I live in the mountains and even in broad daylight if I pass through some heavily shaded sections of road I see the headlight icon on the gauge cluster come on for a few seconds and then shut off again.

I'll have to check the settings menu again. Found nothing in the manual about animated lights.

Incrdible!
I think you have only the premium led light, not the pixel led !
Just saw in the USA jaguar site it seems there is not any pixel led option
My f-type has pixel led option
see the f-type config in italy

ah ha, it's a US thing. Our lights are definitely made up of four pixels, but we dont have that particular option here in the states.

Bummer! I saw videos of the light show as well. Sometimes our policies make no sense!

Are you sure that's not the "J" DRLs coming on (I'm assuming you have the lights switched off if not on Auto)? They're very bright.

1500 Euros only for a start test show I think it is something more

In the config menu (Exterior lightning - High Beam - Adaptive Driving Beam)

I just checked and it is the DRL's plus just one of the four square LED lights (the ones on the outside edges) that make up the actual headlights on each side that illuminate.

(1) Jaguar Technically Beautiful - Pixel LED Headlights Technology. -More Detail in Description - YouTube

In the config menu (Exterior lightning - High Beam - Adaptive Driving Beam)
So, I think our (US) lights are the adaptive LEDs minus the start sequence at least on the R. Settings in the menu and manual discuss how the headlights adapt to road type, speed, etc. to augment the beam continuously. I've seen them changing focus and beam width, length during night driving.

Well, I think it is not the same thing. With the pixel led tecnology every pixel acts INDIVIDUALLY (the start-test sequence is not for a show, but is to highlight that feature). When I drive in the night I see exactly like the youtube video example, pixel change individually in light intensity, continuosly create shadow in front of others car or street light. You can see it immediatly without any doubts. It is a very useful feature in my opinion.

Would be nice to get a final what's what on this. Idk, my car has four individual lenses (each with at least one separate pixel per lense). When set to Auto (have to do this each time manually because the default is neutral), I can see the light and shadow move as I drive. Maybe my imagination or its functionality is limited in the US, but my US manual discusses it as shown in my screenshot previously posted.

Looking at the US 'build your Jaguar' site, the Pixel LED headlights aren't available on the R, where they are fitted as standard on the UK car.

In the below image, UK spec is on the left, US spec on the right. The Pixel headlights aren't even available to order on the config site, whereas they are for the lower spec cars over here in the UK.
