From 1994 to 2005 I didn't even have an operational car. Even though I'm not as young now, I think I can suffer through an impractical choice.

The only automatic I've ever owned was a 1973 Ford Thunderbird with a 460, and bought it cheap for a summer with a friend of mine. We chopped the roof off within 90 minutes of the purchase. I was even younger then.

I don't like the pedal feel on my current car. The clutch is too light and lacking in feel. The brake pedal is too sensitive as well. The shifter is decent though: reasonably precise, shorter travel than my previous car was when stock, although longer than after I installed a short-shifter.

But, as you say, I've adapted. I'm quite looking forward to the F-Type.

Another review of the V6S manual, they seem to think it's rather nice.

Another review from a UK site. They note the difference between the rather clunky prototype driver earlier and the feel of the production model tested. This confirms my suspicion.

They do state the production gearbox / clutch is much improved.

One last really good review that only goes into the manual, and has some decent video.

Yeah, sorry one more out today, where they discuss the clutch, the gates and the throws. They found some clutch problems when getting aggressive.

On a 3500 lb car it's going to be tough finding a clutch that can handle the torque and weight and maintains a light to medium touch. Jag may have to resort to a heavily sprung or multi-plate competition clutch to handle the task.
