Excellent news! I'm glad I was able to help.

The next time you disconnect things in the back, perhaps tie a bulky rag through the loop of the latch, or stuff a rag into the latch opening. That should prevent the lid from closing enough to secure.

Congrats A8Silver !!
I too have been following this thread waiting on your results! Now what would be better if you could maybe take some pictures of the location of junction box and the pin and how you jumped it and post so if someone does this down the road it will make life easier for the next person!! If you can't get pictures at least describe where everything is. Great Going!!

Oh Boy !!! Do I have pics......tons of them !!!! That's how I read the pin numbers and confirmed the wire color - my eyes aren't as good as they used to be.

I will post a document this weekend with the pics and procedure. Least I can do for the help I got from the forum.

You can't wipe the smile off my face today.

Great news, I’ve also been following all suggestions and comment given to you and waiting for a positive solution. Again great news and the knowledge on this forum is by far better than any Jaguar technician.

I'll add my congratulations. You could make a great post for the sticky "How To" thread. (You know you won't be the last.)

As a fellow vert owner, I'm happy this worked out and may very well be beneficial to others. Nice work.

[QUOTE=a8silver;2386481]Was replacing the battery on my 2014 V8S F-type - Vert, and had to stop midway. The stupid stick hit me, and I shut the trunk. The cables are disconnected, and I cannot use the front jump points. I have been looking around, and found threads on how techs have been able to open the trunk by applying voltage to the trunk solenoid from the Central Junction Box ( passenger footwell) . Unfortunately, no detailed instructions.

I have looked and gone thru the V6S service manual (see below) to trace the wiring but no luck. Has anyone opened the truck by powering the trunk with CJB - any procedures/pointers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Had same/similar problem when battery went flat in VA with jump leads in well in trunk of my coupe. Luckily found a small enough person (better half...!) with coat hanger. Lifted off trunk cover from between seats - volunteer (sort of!!!) gets as far as they can with hanger and opens 'T' pull....

I've never owned a Jag that didnt have a key, at present have 2009 XF. Use your key to open the boot if you have one.

Default look for a hole in the emblem to insert key

If it's like the xk8 the emblem on the back of the car (xk8 emblem) has a tiny hole to fit the ignition key in and open the trunk.. Cheers

No option to use a key to open the F-type trunk. Electric (fob, button under the lip, button on the dash), emergency pull tab in the trunk, or a crowbar. And the pull tab has no access in the convertible, unless you thoughtfully locked someone in the trunk first.

I believe the key on the key fob is to open your trunk you have to remove your license plate to access your truck lock if I’m not mistaking.

You are very much mistaken. The emergency key in your fob is to open the doors, not the trunk. There's no keyhole under the licence plate.

I'm a little shocked by all the comments suggesting to use the key.

I think it's people with other models offering helpful suggestions. It seems that for at least some other models it's valid, just not the F-Type. I can't fault people for trying to help.
