Maybe if you had the seat further forward. I have it all the way back (6' 3" tall)...

I just purchased a Scoshe mount but am disappointed with the magnetic grip. I placed the large metal sheet inside my phone's case and it barely adheres to the mount. If I just tip the phone slightly it slides off. I haven't mounted the base in the car yet but I suspect it's not going to work. I guess my heavy duty case is too much for it.

The thickness of the case and/or the material the case is made of will have a direct impact on the magnetic adhesion.
I have mine mounted on the inside of the case and it works perfectly.
Obviously, you could try a different, thinner case, or mount the metal plate directly on the back of the case.

The black metal plate mounted on the outside of the case is how it is intended to be used.

Doesn't 'ugly up' the phone - well - if your phone/case are black.

Mounted on the defroster vent. Will only fit my Galaxy S7 (not edge) in portrait with little space to spare. Note, when fitting the little magnetic plate, you will encounter issues when you wireless charge your phone on the Samsung puck. If you just plug the USB, then no probs.

Sorry if I missed it, which one is that?

I did change the round "head" with another similar unit I had because the magnets were stronger on that other mount and it can stick my Galaxy S7 without the adhesive metal backing that causes the wireless charging probs.

However, the unit I bought does not have branding at all, so I like that. Even though the picture has branding, it is blank.

Also, check the spec on my Galaxy S7 (non edge). It can only be mounted landscape orientation, and the edges are millimeters away from not fitting. So if you have a "longer" phone, this may not work

Ah thanks. I'm using a similar one but I have it in the lower vent which allows me to have the phone vertical. I thought maybe yours extended out more to allow the phone to be up higher and vertical.

Hi,

Here in the UK someone on one of the other forums has 3D printed a phone holder that clamps onto the grab handle. Here are the pics of the one I brought off him fitted in my F Type, I think its great and have been using it a lot.

Seacourt.

I'm interested in any attractive, slim mount options for case free phones.

I'm interested in any attractive, slim women who will put down their phone for more than two minutes.

I would be interested in purchasing that if available for US/Left-hand drive configuration.

I'm sure there are literally dozens of us.

I would be down for one, as well. I admit, I place my hand there quite often, while shifting. AND I love not dropping my eyes from the road, with my current location above the top left dash power button on lcd screen.

But the magnet sucks and it falls off. So there's that.

Doesn't 3D printing take days for small items?

I think I tried two... I'm a manual, so the shifting made it completely impossible to use. But neither had a neck that was strong enough, and it isn't very elegant.

I LOVE the location of mine, but it's still larger than I would like:

This was the perfect holder for me, but drained by battery after one night! Going to take the car in to see if there is a way to turn off the 12V power when the car is off --
thoughts?

In my 2014 V6S the cigarette lighter on the dash goes off when the ignition is turned off. Are you using that one?
