Best place to mount a smartphone in the F-Type?

Yeah, thats the one I used. Perfectly placed holder. But even if the light on the holder went off when I locked the car, it apparently drained the battery. I had the dealer check this.

Here is my new mount, Just got it finished today. It was 3-d printed mount that i then attached a Magnetic mount. I went through several of the Magnetic mounts to find one that was light enough and strong enough to hold. It turned out perfect.
I did produce a handful of others that i am planning on selling. PM me if you are interested.

Hi David. This is a plan that was provided online. (i don't have a UK version though). However, the Clip by it self slides pretty easy. So i have added some Soft velcro to both sides to give extra thickness and to protect the finish of the car. I also found that once i added my mount, and especially the phone, the mount doesn't slide at all. Adding the weight above it creates some torque that makes the clip hold tight.
Hoperfully that will help.

Thank you for the self righteous comment. Some people use a phone for POI lookup and instant navigation instead of fiddling with an archaic 20th century UI that is any in car navigation system. They must all be stupid because they didn't know about putting the phone in their pocket. Obviously, "ok Google, take me to the closest home Depot that is still open" is very unsafe when compared to punching in digits on a tiny screen at the side of the road.

I have the same setup as xxaarraa, but with the Knightspeed mount (which looks a little slimmer, but yours is way cheaper!). Works great and the position is excellent. I originally missed having CarPlay and was thinking about the MerryWay system - but with this mount now I'm pretty happy running Waze on my phone's screen.

I would not recommend the Knightspeed FT450G
I purchased the Knightspeed FT450G. In US dollars it cost about $250. https://www.knightspeed.co.uk/shop/j...harger-ft450g/
Upon closer inspection, it turns this is a 3D printed bracket and the same phone charger you can buy on Amazon for $12.99 (cheaper from Alibaba).
The seller even uses same identical box it comes in from, tears off the label and adds his own. I really expected a better quality product for the money. It also took over a month to arrive with very poor communication. I had to chase up about 4 times and at one point the order was lost.
When it arrived, the phone charger was broken and the seller asked me to mail the charger back, no offer off a free return. In fact the postage would have cost more than $12.99!

Epodigy! I'm ambivalent. I don't have a 3D printer, and I don't have an elegant design for supporting my phone. The overall cost of parts aside, he needs to pay off his printer, and he has a lifetime guarantee. It's exceptionally spendy, but he's providing a service. I just wish it worked for the manual. But yeah, that's steep, and your research is amazing. Well done.

The best solution I've found is a magnetic car vent holder on the left drivers vent. Then run a 10' cord from the lighter under the armrest down behind the drivers seat, under the drivers door runner, up the drivers inner door seal to the vent so no cord shows. It's nice because you can brace your hand on the door handle when using the phone.

Anyone in contact with the knightspeed guy? A stupid purchase is one thing, but he's given a lifetime warranty, and he *ALSO* said he would re-engineer the 3D printing for a manual, but he's dropped off the face of the earth and won't contact me after 4 or 5 attempts in 4 months. I've been *BRUTALLY* patient to the point I know I am getting taken advantage of, and I never appreciate that.
Anyone in comms with him, give him a nudge and tell him one of his customers that was promised lifetime warranty and to help re-engineer for a manual is going to lose his ****ing mind. Thanks.
