Default Best way to clean convertible roof

Not a problem yet but was just wondering what is the recommended way to clean the convertible roof?
I (hand) washed the (new) car for the first time last week and just rinsed the roof fabric.
Since it has a rough surface (unlike paint) it seems it would hold on to dirt over time.
Thanks

I would considering a combination cleaner and fabric protection system. Some examples include RaggTopp Fabric Convertible Top Care Kit or 303 Convertible Fabric Top Cleaning and Care Kit. Just follow the instructions. Once the fabric protection is applied the water will bead off and the roof will be more resistant to staining and sun damage. The only caveat is you need to be careful when it rains and you are getting in and out of your car. The beading of the water sometimes results in a waterfall effect onto you or your passenger. That said I personally only hand wash my car and will use a gentle brush and car wash to clean the roof. In between washings I found that a Roller Tape Lint Brush works great in between washing at keeping the roof lint and dust free.

+1 on the lint roller. I keep it in the car all the time and it works great on the black convertible roof. Otherwise RaggTop sealer once a year or so and just rinse off as needed.

I've used a product called Surf City Garage Top End - great results. Buy it at Walmart...

I've also used Chemical Guys roof products.

Regardless of products you use, make sure they are formulated specifically for convertible fabric, as using generic car soaps and cleaners can damage your top.
