Angry Both smart keys donīt work after car battery was charged

I wasnīt drive my F-TYPE for few months and battery was allmost dead. Smart key didnīt work, so I opened car by emergency key. After I charged car battery to full, smart key still not work. I cannot close or open car and sometimes I cannot start engine (it write - Smart key is away). This is not problem of Smart key, because I have 2 keys and both didnīt work after car battery recharge. I looks I must reprogramming both smart keys, but I donīt know how...
Thank you very much for help!

Have you replaced the batteries in the smart keys? They don't last long.

+1 That's the first thing I'd do, just to eliminate that as the problem. Cheap fix if it works.

+2 As odd as it sounds and seemed at the time, mine both went at the same time. Replace the batteries in the remote first.

If it’s not a battery issue, you may need a new remote key signal module. I had one such occurrence.

Just to make sure, did you try holding them against the indent on the lower dash, by your left knee?

You used the word "sometimes". If it works intermittently, then the guys are correct that it's the key batteries. Even if you aren't using the keys, they do use power so they will run down batteries just sitting.

Any idea how long ?

Had my F Type for 28 months, haven't changed key batteries, so depending on whether original owner changed them they could be four years old and still working.

Just wondered if smart keys are different depending on if keyless entry,

Mine aren't keyless, have to press button on remote key

My system is keyless. I haven't changed the battery in 4.5 years. The non-keyless may actually draw more power as it has to transmit over a greater distance when the buttons are pushed.

Me too, although I removed the battery from my spare while it sits in the drawer. I'll probably use that one and make sure I have a fresh replacement handy.

Mine too. The used and the spare I never use both died within weeks of each other.

In 4 plus years I've changed them both once. Last time it was about a year ago.

I still think this is a probable quick fix. Just following the directions on the dash fixed my keys.

Thank you, that was my first idea - itīs strange that both smart keys was dead in same time (about 2 months) after about 4 years (I never used second one), but it really was .
