Its not, they are actually spot welded. I just removed the whole rear exhaust assembly and took it to a local shop. I think it was $160 to ceramic coat them in a satin black finish.

It is! Just unbolt and remove the entire muffler (comes as a matched set ). About a 15 min. job.

Agree its easy to remove the rear muffler, but I think he was asking if the tips themselves can be removed, to which I explained on the R at least they appear to be spot welded, so the only option is to remove the entire rear muffler.

With his black pak and black wheels, black tips are effectively a necessity.

Although, I do have a stock R muffler with black tips sitting in a closet...

That's why I inserted the wink. To get those tips coated, it would be easiest to remove the entire muffler to have it done.
